If you have been following Blizzard, now Activision Blizzard, or its phenomenal MMORPG World of Warcraft, you would be familiar to its third installment, the Wrath of the Lich King. Second installment was Burning Crusade which features the story about the opening of the Dark Portal in Blasted Lands, which opens a warp gate to the ethereal world of Draenor, now known as Outland.

In Burning Crusade, the main antagonist is Illidan Stormrage the demon hunter, a former Night Elf hero who upon consuming the Skull of Guldan have become "something more than a night elf, something for than a demon".

The Burning Crusade

The opening cinematics with his intro: "Imprisoned for 10,000 years, banished from my own homeland, yet you dare enter my realm, you are not prepared...", will suggest to the degree of his anger on his fate. Initially, he was real hero, brother of Shando Stormrage, one of the night elf guardians. But then he was accused of treason by Whisperwind and Shando. He consumed the Skull of Guldan so he may increase his power, but unwittingly corrupted his being.

He left Azeroth along with his serpentine minions the Naga commanded by Vashj, and his high official, Kael Thas Sunstrider with his Blood elf army. Together they entered Outland. After doing so, they destroyed all other dark portals on Outland to cut the reinforcements of the demon army.

Lady Vashj became the Queen under her palace in Zangarmarsh. Kael Thas became the leader inside a draenei fortress the Tempest Keep, and Illidan claimed the former Karabor temple, now the Black Temple, for himself. In Azeroth, another major boss is Archimonde, inside Caverns of Time. In this WoW installment, the highest armor drops is the tier 6 item sets.

Wrath of the Lich King

After bolstering his army in Outland, Illidan came back to Azeroth, to Northrend to exact his revenge on the human paladin and prince of Lordaeron, Arthas Menethil, who by the time he arrived there, already became one with the spirit of Guldan, the orc warlock, when he wore the frozen armor on top of the Icecrown Glacier, and together, they became one dreadful being, the Lich King.

Arthas the Lich King is now wielding the runeblade Frostmourne when Illidan reached him in Icecrown. They fought, but Illidan was no match for him.

In Wrath of the Lich King, the main antagonist is now Arthas the Lich King and Kel Thuzad now in his Lich form in the newly added continent, the Northrend.

Added also is the runeforging Death Knight class, available only when you already have a level 55 character in the account. The death knight is available for all races. A paladin-like character, can tank, can do spells, and can do serious melee damage. Once a hero of the Lich King, the death knights became allies with the Horde, or the Alliance.

Added also is the Inscriptionist profession which can make inscriptions and add Glyphs to characters.

There is also a barber in the new Dalaran, after teleported from Lordamere lake to Crystal Song Forest, floating magically above the area.

Professions max skill is raised to 450 from 375 with the title as Grand Master.

New mounts can be used, from Woolly Mammoths, to Proto Drakes and Dragons.

Character level cap is also increased to level 80, so seeing a character with 16k health is no surprise now.

As for me, I'm playing private server Scape Gaming because it's a cool free server, implementing 3.0.9 patch.

I have about 7 characters in there, but the characters I use mostly are "Sephirothz", a blood elf warlock, "Syllann", a blood elf death knight, "Taurajin" a tauren warrior, and "Ohayo", a blood elf paladin wielding a Lionheart Executioner.
